We understand that gaming machines are built for best experience and performance, since the latest technologies like Nvidia Hairworks, volumetric fog, 4K resolution, etc are here to stay. So we collected a lot of gaming laptops, did extensive testing using games, CPU hogging applications and benchmark tools.

Here is the list of gaming laptops which you may consider for year 2020:

  1. Dell Alienware 17 Area 51

We start off with the most powerful and costliest gaming laptop. This is currently an outrageously pricey and out of this world performance laptop. This is not for the fainted hearted, you empty your pockets to get the best. It is available for customization in terms of HDD(1TB/2TB), RAM (16/32/64GB) and processor (i7/i9).

Area 51 is not just pretty looking but high in performance, it can guarantee any game at the highest FPS. It topped in all tests. Best thing about it is its upgrade-ability, base model comes with 16 GB RAM which can go up to whooping 64GB. While its top-end i9 processor comes with slowest 3.6Ghz clock speed to mind blowing 5Ghz highest speeds. This is no ordinary laptop, it does what it is built for and can keep performing for years to come.

With 17.3inch screen it is huge but eye catching, thanks to its all magnesium chassis. Zephyrus can’t be hidden in your backpack, it is one heck of attention seeker. Though it comes with some issues but its 17.3 inch true gaming performance can’t be ignored. In other words it is great but not the best.

It wasn’t surprising that Zephyrus faired very well on some benchmark tests. It has one of a kind hardware setup, where Geforce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics card takes a bow.  Zephyrus also comes with a Full HD (60fps) external webcam, which can be clipped on the system when needed.

  3. MSI GT75VR Titan SLI series

Here is another heavyweight contender in the gaming laptop series. MSI is not a new name in the game, they have been providing some serious hardware concerning the Motherboards, graphics cards and other accessories. MSI have been pushing the gaming laptop performances to the limit with overclocking capabilities of 8th gen Intel Core i9 CPUs. Intel Core i9 are built to be married with gaming and performance machines. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that its true place is to be with performance chassis like of MSI TITAN series.

Though these 17 inch gaming monsters are not made to be used as a traditional “lap” top,
MSI Titan can surely be placed on your lap, but not for much long period. This is the heaviest amongst its competitor gaming laptops. GT75 Titan is not flashy but it will get others attention anyhow, with its glossy aluminum back and best backlit mechanical keyboard. 4. Dell Alienware M15 R2

The first time we got hands on this machine, the first thing we noticed is it is amazingly good looking for a white machine and second is how light it is for a gaming machine. M15 R2 is the thinnest and lightest Alienware you can get hands on. That being said, it doesn’t feel flimsy at all, it is very sturdy and continues to bring the Alienware quality. It comes with Tobii Eye tracking, personally we didn’t feel it was much useful. The other aesthetic features like Tron lights on raised the back fins are good looking. Not mention this machine comes with lot of custom options for processor, RAM, storage and graphics.

Good thing about it is it comes with cheap options to high ones which one can prefer based on its preferences. The cheapest options comes with Intel Core i7-9750H 9th gen, Gefore GTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 and 8GB of 2666GHz RAM, but who cares it’s an Alienware gaming laptop at the end of the day.

    RAM: 16GB, 2x8GB, DDR4 2666MHz
Storage: 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD (Class 40)

Pros: Very lightweight and slim, good looking, great custom options
Cons: Trackpad is not user friendly

  5. Razer Blade 15 RTX

Last but not the least Razer, a brand which is made for enthusiasts only. Razer Blade 15 is a serious performer with minimal design aspects. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t pretty. Razer Blade 15 is a class in its itself boasting of its two core features rigidity and minimalism. It is thinner than Alienware M15, though not lighter even after getting a magnesium chassis. The key custom options on Razer 15 is the display, one can chose from 1080p 60 Hz, 1080p 144 Hz, 4K UHD 60 Hz touchscreen, 4K UHD OLED 60 Hz touchscreen, and also 1080p 240 Hz. It has one of the highest display custom options.
